So … for me Halloween represents more than a scary, haunting day … it represents a time for GRANDS to cultivate their creativity and invigorate their imaginations. It represents a time for playful pretense and positive community interactions with rewards of candy and goodies … SWEET!
So … I remember when a small, shy, young girl from a small town, dressed up as a Princess and rode on a float in the Halloween Parade. The experience gave her the courage to believe she could be SPECIAL … that she WAS SPECIAL. That’s another side of Halloween.
So … as we bid Au Revoir to Halloween 2020-style and Fall Back an hour to start Daylight Savings Time, let’s take a moment to reminisce on past Halloweens and continue to encourage playful, positive interactions for our GRANDS.
